Job Summary | The Administrative Specialist serves as the primary point of contact in the Office of the President for visitors and callers and is responsible for ensuring that all parties receive prompt, professional and courteous attention when contacting the President’s Office. The Administrative Specialist may independently respond to inquiries, assist the visitor/caller on appropriate next steps, or direct to the appropriate person or department. In addition, the Specialist acts as the Building Coordinator for the Troy Building; is responsible for the maintenance and upkeep of the offices on the 3rd and 4th floors designated to the President; ensures that office supplies and equipment are inventoried and maintained; and ensures that electronic and paper records are filed and/or destroyed as appropriate. Additionally, the Administrative Specialist performs a full range of secretarial and administrative duties supporting the President’s staff. The position requires a high level of professionalism, confidentiality and customer focus that must be demonstrated and maintained. |

About EMPAC | Curtis R. Priem Experimental Media and Performing Arts Center “The concert hall of the 21st century has arrived. But in addition, the huge building, laid out on a hillside, houses a 400-seat theater with comparable versatility; two black-box studios, one geared more toward sound, the other toward sight; and space for rehearsals and other uses. And for their electronic and data needs, all these components have access to one of the world’s biggest supercomputers.” The New York Times (10/08/2008) At the Curtis R. Priem Experimental Media and Performing Arts Center (EMPAC) at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (Institute), the arts, sciences, and technology meet under one roof in four exceptional venues. This incredible 220,000 square foot building, designed by London-based Grimshaw Architects, opened in 2008 and is an unmatched model of acoustics, infrastructure, and architectural engineering with state-of-the-art performing arts infrastructure and architectural engineering. EMPAC’s concert hall features 1,165 seats with the ability to sculpt the acoustical soundscape for musical performances and equipment for screens, projections, and staging elements. The Goodman Studio/Theater and Studio 2 are versatile spaces that can be used to create immersive experiences utilizing both projection and sound technology. EMPAC’s theater features computer-controlled rigging, a sixty-foot fly tower, and advanced recording audio and video recording technology. Beyond the four core venues, EMPAC houses residency studios, research offices, green room, soloists/conductor suites, changing rooms, and the main lobby level, as well as café and mezzanine levels, which are often used by students as studying and meeting spaces. EMPAC currently commissions, presents, and researches interdisciplinary time-based visual art and the entire range of performing arts genres. Research Initiatives In addition to its curatorial program, EMPAC is the center of robust research initiatives driven by Institute students, faculty, and staff from all five schools. Using the venues and with the support of EMPAC’S professional experts, researchers are supported in work centered on the questions of understanding human sensory experience, communication, and interaction with computing systems. From student work to research and performance opportunities, extracurricular clubs to special events, EMPAC offers a range of ways for Institute students to be involved. Since 2020, EMPAC has also been part of the Google Arts & Culture project, allowing visitors to enjoy stories on various topics, including the building’s design and construction and spatial audio and wave field synthesis. Job Summary | The Executive Director of EMPAC will guide and deliver on its mission and vision as a global center at the intersection of the arts, science, and technology. They will be accountable for a strategic direction, business model, and adaptive change that are in alignment with the Institute’s Rensselaer Forward plan, including the goal to create the most welcoming and inclusive community possible for faculty, staff, students, and the external community EMPAC serves. The Executive Director will maintain a presence both on and off campus by actively participating in the community and establishing international visibility at relevant conferences and other events that increase exposure and access to artists that could curate, produce, or be presented by EMPAC. These activities are focused on preserving an integrated interdisciplinary pedagogical approach to research, programs, and campus events that inspire active participation by faculty and students in and attendance at EMPAC. The Executive Director will partner with each of the School Deans and Institute Administration to coordinate student learning outcomes, activating EMPAC as a hub for student learning on campus. They will oversee, inspire, and collaborate with a dedicated staff while investing in them and securing the resources that ensure EMPAC remains at the forefront of technological advancements. In collaboration with Institute Advancement and the President, the Executive Director will establish and maintain a portfolio of donor relationships that support the capital and operating needs of EMPAC, including its facilities, programs, and research. Additionally, the Executive Director will spearhead plans with the Office of Community Engagement and Communications to engage with local and regional organizations, as well as too raise the unique profiles of both EMPAC and the Institute in the region and on national and international levels. Qualifications | Qualifications The successful candidate will have a minimum of a master’s degree, or equivalent experience, and 8-10 years of senior management expertise in commissioning, promoting, programming, producing, and/or presenting contemporary music, theater, dance, multi-media, or other experimental creative industry initiatives. A comprehensive understanding of associated production, capacity utilization (both venue and staff), audience development, and venue management is important. Although experience in an academic environment is helpful, those with demonstrable results in nonprofit or corporate structures are welcome to pursue this unique opportunity. Exceptional relationship management, donor cultivation, and creative industries expertise with leading producers and artists at the national and international level is preferred. The capacity to work flexible hours on evenings and weekends is required in best serving the needs of numerous stakeholders. Job Summary | The Sr. Major Gift Officer (MGO) will serve as the Senior Regional Director of Development for the Southwest Region of the United States and will be responsible for developing a regular cadence of strategic opportunities focused on engaging existing and prospective major donors with the end goal of qualifying, soliciting, and closing major gifts. This role will serve as the primary strategist and staff person for the Texas Triangle Executive Council. We are seeking a high energy, motivated Night Warehouse Supervisor in our Coxsackie, NY Distribution Center.
The primary duties of the Night Shift Supervisor will strive to achieve the production and
distribution objectives of the company using supervisory methods and coaching techniques. Is
responsible for warehouse training, developing warehouse personnel to ensure accurate, on
time, and damage free movement of product shipped out of the warehouse. Will help build a
team environment of well-trained employees. Employ excellent communication skills to facilitate
completion of night shift job duties. Follow and promote the accepted safety practices to
maintain a safe working environment. Emphasis will be placed on proper truck loading and
breakage and damaged product control ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction.
Position will also learn the processes and serve as a back up to the night managers in the areas
of shift production set up; understanding how to and executing on waving, label creation, job
assignment, invoicing, and other administrative tasks as needed to ensure successful night shift
work completion in the absence of the night shift Manager.
ESSENTIAL POSITION RESULTS
• Must be able to multi-task and stay on top of highly complex processes with a large
amount of data.
• Must be able to maintain composure and stay focused in times of stress.
• Must be able to recognize problems at an early stage and be able to communicate and
trouble shoot to resolve the problems.
• Must possess good communication skills to keep night management fully apprised of
situations that arise. When necessary, will need to contact technical support to resolve
system and software problems.
• Supervises warehouse union employees. Working knowledge and a thorough
understanding of the Collective Bargaining Unit Contract is required.
• Expected to provide staff coaching for improvement as well as praise for a job well done.
• Works with all hourly employees to insure the accurate picking of orders and proper
loading of trucks.
• Must have knowledge of SAP, Lucas, and all warehouse management systems.
• Maintains a safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules,
and regulations

Supervises members of the night warehouse team. Works closely with Management to direct the
workflow in an efficient and professional manner. Is responsible for providing effective
leadership while fostering a positive team environment and providing overall direction,

Operations Manager - Office of Residential Education & Housing
Pay Status and Classification: Non-Exempt, Regular full-time (40 hours per week)
Supervisor: Associate Director for Housing Operations
Position Purpose: Utilizing a team approach, exercising sound judgment, and exemplifying a positive attitude, the Operations Manager manages the day-to-day operations of the Residential Education (ResEd)& Housing Office, including Greek Leadership and Minerva Programs. Serves as the main receptionist and interacts with students, student staff, parents, and other campus constituencies daily. Identifies and articulates student needs and collaborates with appropriate residential staff to provide an effective institutional response. Keeps sensitive information private and confidential. Supports the Associate Director of Housing Operations with all operational tasks associated with the office. Carries out the mission of Union College and the Division of Student Affairs.
This position works on site and primarily in person. Additionally, this position may involve occasional evening and weekend responsibilities.
Essential Responsibilities and Duties:
- Administration: Maintains a neat and orderly office environment, befitting a space used as a student resource center. Publishes and maintains an accurate directory of all ResEd staff. Coordinates and/or initiates calendar scheduling as requested; makes sure meeting attendees know the location or zoom link. Supports and implements logistics for ResEd programs and events (ex. catering, space reservations, set-up/tear down). Supports administrative processes such as move-in/out, residence transition periods, life & safety inspections, and roster verifications. Offers to pitch in to help colleagues during crunch times and overlapping deliverables. Provides administrative assistance (ex. calendar management, event support) to the directors, assistant vice president, and other students affairs administrators when needed or requested.
- Customer Service: Manages day-to-day operations (ex. answering phones, managing centralized emails, scheduling, monitoring work study students) for ResEd & Housing and other offices as needed. Opens and closes the office space in line with established hours. Provides initial consultation to student walk-ins and refers as appropriate. Responds quickly to any parent emails and calls as appropriate. Updates voice/email boxes to reflect hours, any special closings, announcements. Models and encourages an inclusive culture of customer service that respects individuals of any background or identity.
- Student Staff Supervision: Works with a designated supervisor to select, train, and supervise work 3 -15 part time student employees. Accounts for and approves student hours in designated online systems. Creates an office hour schedule and ensures student coverage.
- Project Management: Maintains a secure and accurate key system (ex. auditing, logging, ordering replacements). Connects with facilities and key shop contacts on key related items. Manages campus-wide laundry program, including audits and maintenance reports for entire residential areas. Serves as the primary point of contact for the laundry company and maintenance workers. Creates updates to existing laundry programs to ensure overall student satisfaction and reliability.
- Purchasing Support: Oversees processing payments and reconciliations. Tracks spending trends and recommendations as needed to support the budgetary health of the overall program. Supports purchasing through best practices and preferred vendors. Ensures appropriate inventory of supplies and makes orders as needed.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree and/or two to four years of administrative experience, preferably in an educational or related environment, and/or a combination of relevant education, training, certifications, and/or work experience.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills and ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including nights and weekends.
- Ability to work onsite in an office setting including ability to stand and sit for extended periods.
- Extensive computer skills, such as working knowledge of Microsoft Office and Excel, Google Suite (Gmail, Google Calendar, and Google docs).
- Ability to exercise exceptional judgment, ensure strict confidentiality, and demonstrate outstanding professionalism in a range of situations.
- Able to support, contribute to, and strengthen a vibrant, culturally diverse, and inclusive learning community of students, alumni, faculty, and fellow staff colleagues.

Compensation
The rate for this position is $24.00 - $26.25 per hour. Except for roles with a set rate of pay, the wage/salary of the finalist selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to departmental budgets, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, and training. The stated hiring rate/range represents the College’s good faith and reasonable estimate of the rate/range of possible compensation at the time of posting.

Job Summary | The Program Administrator, Sr manages activities of the Center of Excellence in Digital Game Development at RPI, also known as the Digital Gaming Hub, administered through the Games and Simulation Arts and Sciences Program in the School of Humanities, Arts, and Social Sciences. The Program Administrator, Sr is responsible for supervision and management of tasks related to the Hub’s mission, including community management, outreach, events planning and execution, assessment and reporting, and program development. The Administrator supports, initiates, and manages interactions and relations with internal and external partners, including industry partners, community organizations, economic development agencies, funding source, and not-for-profit agencies, research labs, and other stakeholders in the games and digital media ecosystem.
